Welcome to my webpage

I received my PhD in Astronomy in 2016 from the University of Western Ontario. For my research, I worked under Dr. Sarah Gallagher on studying active galactic nuclei focusing mostly on Quasars.

Quasars are fun! They are also thought to play an important role in the evolution of galaxies through interactions between the host galaxies and the supermassive black holes at their centers.

Before starting my PhD in Canada, I was a Fulbright student at Minnesota State University where I did an MSc in Physics under Dr. Paul Eskridge and prior to that I received my BSc in Physics from Al-Baath University in Syria.

Please take a look at my research page for more on what I do or check out  this poster for a quick overview of my recent work.

Following my PhD, I moved to working as a Data Scientist working in different domains including Natural Language Processing (NLP), anomaly detection, and time series analysis.
